Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine is a Philadelphia native, was born and raised in the city. Pam, Jazmine's mother was a backing vocalist at Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her the job of curator at the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She and her family then moved in to the historic landmark. In 2005 she was a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts as an alumna of the vocal music department. Sullivan began singing in the children's chorus as a contralto and then she joined the adult choir just a few years after that. He was exposed to secular music but was initially minimal "I was doing solos in church and someone wanted me to be a part of a gospel label before I was eleven but I wasn't ready to do that," she recalls. "Then the time came that McDonald's held a contest for youngsters in the major cities I was invited to sing 'Accept What God Gives' on Showtime at the Apollo and the audience loved it". Stevie Wonder sang her part on his birthday, 13 years old. Sullivan At the age of 15, was first signed to Jive Records. There, she recorded an entire album. But it was never released. Sullivan was later dropped from the label. The singer had a great working partnership and Missy Elliott. Elliott produced many of her tracks which included "Backstabbers" and "Backstabbers," which was written by Timbaland.
